Demasked is a non-narrative short film that depicts a five-minute dislocation of consciousness within an in-between space shaped by dominance and submission. The film employs a language of symbols and associations, drawing references from the relationship between Rimbaud and Verlaine, often considered the first openly queer relationship in literary history. Absinthe appears as a recurring symbol, evoking escape into altered states and parallel worlds. Through a solitary figure, the film reflects a struggle between the carnal, social and political dimensions of the self.
In 2024, film became a part of curatoral series FIXATIONS by BUTT Magazine and The One Minutes Foundation from Amsterdam for a distribution to international film festival screening.
